A Dedication to
Willie Edwards, Jr.
Only two years after the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the death of Emmett Till, among many other issues that constantly challenged Black people of Montgomery, AL, the news of the lynching of Willie "Mookie" Edwards, Jr. terrorized and traumatized family members, shook the local citizens, and reminded them of the arduous journey that lied ahead. Edwards was lynched at the Tyler-Goodwin Bridge. Montgomery Deep History is the only entity to date that has closeup, aerial approved Class Delta footage of the Tyler-Goodwin Bridge from deploying its sUAS. His body is buried in the New Pleasant Valley Cemetery across the street from the historic New Pleasant Valley A.M.E Zion Church of Lowndes County. Thank you for viewing the video below that was fully produced by Montgomery Deep History in conjunction with Adams Legacy Productions.
